Minimum Qualifications:
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) from accredited institution
- Board Certification by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry.
- Graduation from an approved school of optometry.
- Two (2) years of experience in Optometry, preferably in geriatric care.
- The following documents are required for credentialing the Optometrist
- Current License in Washington, DC
- Certification
- Professional School attended (to include diplomas)
- Declaration of Health
- Relevant Training or Experience
- Initial Application for Clinic Privileges
- Delineation of Privileges
- Statement of Application
- Privacy Act Statement
- Curriculum Vitae
- CPR Certification (BLS)
- Continuing Education Certificates
- National Criminal Background Check (DC, MD, VA, and any additional states worked/lived in the last seven (7) years)
- Drug Screening
- PPD and Vaccination Record (Influenza and COVID-19)
- Td/TdaP (up to date)
- Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.
Minimum Skills:
- Must possess problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to respond effectively to customers with a sense of urgency.
- Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.
- Highly motivated with the ability to handle and manage multiple tasks at any one time.
- Ability to forge new relationships, individual and teaming in nature.
- Must be a Self-starter, that can work independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions
- Professional Walk-in medical clinic with high patient volume environment.
- Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties while standing for extended periods of time.
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.
- Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace.
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time looking at computer screen.
- May be asked to work a flexible schedule which may include holidays.
- May be asked to travel for business or professional development purposes.
- May be asked to work hours outside of normal business hours.
- Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including visual examination of patient and reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
- Requires frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 30 pounds unassisted, including assisting patients when required.
- Adequate physical ability including sufficient manual dexterity to perform the requisite health care service. Requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting, and sitting, with some heavy lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.
- May be exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
