Responsibilities

  • Maintains INR’s vast data holdings and associated information system components which store this valuable data.
  • Have solid knowledge of data mining and acquisitions, database architecture, database administration, data archive recovery, database structure systems design, data modeling, database analysis and metadata repository creation.
  • Develops data management strategies ensuring high availability.
  • Design and manage the database architecture for INR's intelligence operations across multiple classification levels, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security.
  • Lead the strategic development and implementation of database solutions to support INR's modernization initiatives, including cloud-based technologies.
  • Oversee the maintenance of INR's vast data holdings, ensuring high availability, data integrity, and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Provide expertise in managing relational databases, particularly Microsoft SQL, and other database technologies as required by INR.
  • Conduct regular database performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization to meet or exceed established service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Develop and enforce database administration policies and procedures, including backup and recovery processes, to safeguard INR's critical data assets.
  • Collaborate with IT security teams to enhance database security measures, ensuring alignment with cybersecurity best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support application development and integration efforts, ensuring seamless data flow and accessibility.
  • Evaluate emerging database technologies and tools, recommending solutions that enhance INR's analytical capabilities and operational efficiency.
  • Document database design, configuration, and maintenance procedures, facilitating knowledge transfer and continuity of operations.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of data migration projects, ensuring minimal disruption to INR's intelligence activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Information or Computer Systems a plus.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in data management using Microsoft SQL, or similar relational database systems. Must have at least 3 years of experience managing database components for a custom developed application.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in managing ElasticSearch/OpenSearch.
  • Experience handling multiple projects at once.
  • Experience taking over management of projects at different levels of completion.
  • Experience leading large-scale data management, warehousing, or analytics projects.
  • Demonstrated industry leadership in the fields of database design and development, data warehousing, or data sciences.
  • Extensive experience in database architecture, design, and administration, particularly within the intelligence community or similar high-security environments.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale data warehousing and analytics projects.
  • Relevant certifications such as DoD Directive 8570 compliance or equivalent industry-recognized credentials.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess a TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Networking Certifications a plus
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) a plus
  • Project Management Professional preferred.
  • Good working skills in Remedy trouble ticketing and asset management system.
  • Previous working experience at DoS is desirable, but not required

Pay Range

USD $159,000.00 - USD $166,000.00 /Yr.
