The Work

The Mid-Tier Computer Forensics Specialist delivers actionable cyber intelligence through forensic examination of digital systems. This role supports proactive defense, incident response, and predictive threat modeling in coordination with joint and inter agency partners.

 

This position performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Cayuse.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze multiple sources of digital evidence, including network traffic, logs, storage devices, and malware artifacts.
  • Conduct technical predictive intelligence analysis focused on cyber threats.
  • Provide cyber intelligence expertise and digital forensics capabilities in support of incident response and attribution efforts.
  • Produce timely and actionable technical reports for intelligence consumers and senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with analysts, network defenders, and cyber operators to identify and mitigate threats
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications – Here’s What You Need       

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Digital Forensics, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 2-5 years of experience conducting digital forensics and/or cyber threat analysis.
  • Experience with digital forensics tools (e.g., EnCase, FTK, Cellebrite, X-Ways, Autopsy).
  • Familiarity with network forensics, malware revers engineering, and scripting for automation.
  • Strong understanding of operational systems, file systems, and memory forensics.
  • Top Secret SCI clearance is required.
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

Minimum Skills Required:

  • Must possess problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to respond effectively to customers with a sense of urgency.
  • Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to handle and manage multiple tasks at any one time.
  • Ability to forge new relationships, individual and teaming in nature.
  • Must be a Self-starter, that can work independently and as part of a team.

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • ISFCE Certified Computer Examiner (CCE) or IACIS Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE) or equivalent industry-recognized certification
  • Certified Ethical Hacking certification
  • Experience supporting DoD, law enforcement, or intelligence community operations.
  • Knowledge of cyber TTPs (tactics, techniques, and procedures) and threat actor attribution

Reports to: Program Manager

 

Working Conditions

  • Professional office environment.
  • Ability to work at Camp Smith, HI.
  • Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.
  • Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time looking at computer screen.
  • May be asked to work a flexible schedule which may include holidays.
  • May be asked to travel for business or professional development purposes.
  • May be asked to work hours outside of normal business hours.

Pay Range

USD $118,283.00 - USD $143,499.00 /Yr.
