The Work:
The Interpreter & Translator will provide interpretation and translation to agencies for individuals with a language barrier. Interpretation will consist of but not limited to Education, legal, Medical, Environmental, and Social Services, etc. This may require interpretation and translation onsite or remote
This position performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Cayuse.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately translate spoken work situations like lectures, conversations, and meetings.
Utilizing technology to transcribe spoken English in some settings.
Reading an original document and translating it into the language required.
Editing translated versions
Will need to be sensitive to the culture of the original languages and the target languages during the translation process
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications – Here’s What You Need:
High School/BA Degree/ or equivalent in years of experience
Reports to: Deputy Program Manager
Working Conditions:
Professional remote environment.
Must be able to be on-call. Translator/Interpreter will be notified within 48 hours of potential jobs.
Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties extended periods of time.
Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.
Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace.
Must be able to sit for long periods of time looking at computer screen.
May be asked to work a flexible schedule which may include holidays.
May be asked to travel for business or professional development purposes.
May be asked to work hours outside of normal business hours.
