Minimum Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum Experience Requirements:
- Five years’ technical experience with Tactical Training Range systems or equivalent military systems.
- Five years of instrumentation experience in the following areas:
- Fiber Optics theory
- Electromagnetic waves, antennas
- Optical systems
- Communications systems (analog, digital and voice)
- Video signal processing and recording
- Microwave Transmission
- Static/dynamic systems calibration (radar and data)
- Spectrum Analysis
- Project Management
- FM/VHF/UHF Systems
- Ability to speak, read, and write English.
Minimum Position-Specific Training Required:
- Formal classroom education equivalent to Navy “C” School or vocational school with formal training in the field of electronic equipment maintenance and equipment manufacturer training.
- Possess a valid state Driver’s License.
Citizenship and Security Clearance Requirements:
- US Citizen
- Obtain and maintain the appropriate level of clearance

This position has been designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position in specialty area, (48) – Telecommunications Management – Intermediate/Journeyman - and as a condition of employment incumbents of the position are required to comply with the DON Cyber IT/CSWF Program requirements of SECNAV M-5239.2, which include:
- Earn and maintain appropriate credentials from the Cyber IT/CSWF Qualification Matrix (described in SECNAV M-5239.2) associated with the specialty area and level commensurate with the scope of major assigned duties for the position to which you are assigned, and;
- Participate in a continuous learning program as described in SECNAVINST 1543.2. A minimum of 40 hours of Cyber IT/CSWF related continuous learning annually documented in a current individual development plan signed by both the employee and supervisor.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
- Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.
- Routine travel to remote site facilities may be involved.
- Work is occasionally performed in a shop or other facility environment that is moderately lighted, heated and ventilated, is exposed to disagreeable fumes and to cuts and bruises from using tools in close placed and hazards of moving vehicles such as forklifts and sweepers in shop area.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.
- The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
- Frequently lifts items weighing 15-25 pounds and occasionally in excess of 45 pounds. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, and vibration.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; and risk of electrical shock.
