- High school diploma or equivalent; Undergraduate degree desired.
Minimum Experience Requirements:
- Documented experience in either a military or civilian environment in Air Traffic Control (ATC) with radar supervisory experience in a TRACON or CATCC facility, or an Operations Specialist with Air Intercept Controller (OS/AIC) or a qualified tactical aircrew member or C2 platform aircraft
- Familiarity with Airspace Management/Control highly desirable
- A thorough knowledge of FRTC special use airspace/restricted areas, FAA/Department of the Navy Memorandums of Agreement, and a working knowledge in interpreting guidance and directives from higher authority, selecting applicable portions and adapting for local use.
- A thorough familiarity with NAVSTKAIRWARCENTINST 3700 series, ground firing weapons procedures, specifically approved ordnance, delivery profiles, target sets, and check-in and check-out procedures.
- Proficient in use of military or FAA radar systems, two-way radio communications, a working knowledge of standard NATO code words, and familiarity with radio traffic common to military aviation.
- May be required to organize and conduct tours for agencies and users to reinforce policies/procedures for safe conduct of operations.
- Demonstrate proficiency in English both written and oral communications on a routine basis.
Minimum Position-Specific Training Required:
- Complete RCO operations training package within six months of employment assignment
Citizenship and Security Clearance Requirements:
- US Citizen
- Obtain and maintain the appropriate level of clearance

- Routine travel to remote site facilities may be involved.
Reports To: The incumbent’s immediate lead is the Range Control Officer, Senior. Watch assignments are generated in accordance with Range Operations Center operating hours established in the Range User’s Manual or as amended by higher authority. The incumbent serves as the subject matter expert and instructor for newly hired personnel.
