Job Title: Epic Community Connect Solutions Architect
Cayuse Company: Cayuse Civil Services, LLC
Work Location: Remote 
Salary Range: $90-$160 per hour
Employee Type: Part-Time 1099 Short-Term Contract - with possibility of long term

Responsibilities

Primary Focus:

The Epic Community Connect Solutions Architect will lead solution design efforts for a strategic Community Connect implementation. This role is critical in designing scalable solutions for affiliate onboarding, encompassing clinical, technical, and operational components. Initially supporting the proposal and planning phase, the Architect has the opportunity to transition into a delivery leadership role for long-term implementation projects. This position emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and rigorous alignment with Epic best practices to ensure client and affiliate success.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop end-to-end Epic Community Connect implementation strategies tailored to affiliate needs.
  • Design scalable workflows, hosting models, access provisioning, and security frameworks for affiliates.
  • Lead pre-sales and proposal efforts, including developing methodology, resourcing plans, and timelines.
  • Contribute to proposal narratives, pricing inputs, and participate in oral presentations to stakeholders.
  • Align Epic best practices with the host organization's standards and affiliate constraints.
  • Collaborate with integration teams on HL7, FHIR, and SSO strategies to ensure seamless affiliate onboarding.
  • Define governance, change management, and frameworks for post-go-live support.
  • Support application build, workflow documentation, and testing for Epic modules, including Ambulatory, Cadence, MyChart, and PB.
  • Participate in affiliate discovery sessions to gather needs and translate them into Epic configurations.
  • Configure SmartSets, visit types, note templates, and user security settings for affiliates.
  • Assist in the development of affiliate onboarding playbooks and go-live support plans.
  • Provide operational input into project timelines, resource allocation, and readiness planning.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure alignment with Epic best practices and the host organization’s policies.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Education and Certification:
    • Epic Certification in Ambulatory (highly preferred).
    • Preferred certifications: MyChart, Cadence, or Professional Billing (PB).
  2. Experience:
    • 5+ years of professional experience in Epic, with 3+ years specifically in Community Connect implementations.
    • Proven experience designing and deploying scalable Epic solutions for affiliate environments.
    • Previous experience contributing to RFP responses, oral presentations, or proposal crafting.
  3. Skills:
    • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to present effectively to executive-level stakeholders.
    • Proficiency in managing workflows, security frameworks, and technical integration (e.g., HL7, FHIR).
    • Deep understanding of governance, change management, and post-go-live support frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications

Working Conditions

  • Work Environment: Remote position with occasional travel as needed to support client and affiliate operations.
  • Physical Demands: Primarily requires extended periods of sitting, typing, and using a computer. Candidates must have the ability to maintain productivity in a home office environment.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Must be able to adapt to project needs, which may include occasional evening or weekend meetings or urgent travel.
