The Product Manager ensures the product aligns with the HCMACS program objectives, satisfies the functional and operational needs of target users (e.g., healthcare providers), and complies with all federal/state regulatory requirements. The role requires an experienced product leader capable of engaging cross-functional teams, gathering and prioritizing user requirements, and ensuring the delivered solution addresses the diverse needs of providers, including Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), Tribal Health Providers, Behavioral Health Providers, and other facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of strategic vision, technical knowledge of EHR systems (specifically Epic), user-focused development experience, and a solid understanding of healthcare operations.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the strategic product vision for the HCMACS Enterprise EHR platform that aligns with the program goals of improving healthcare delivery, interoperability, and provider workflows.
  • Set measurable objectives for the product roadmap and lead efforts to prioritize features and functionality based on stakeholder input, end-user needs, and HCA program goals.
  • Serve as the primary champion of the HCMACS product both externally (to providers and stakeholders) and internally (among project teams).
  • Engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, including HCA leadership, provider organizations, and clinical teams, to gather and document requirements for the system’s design and functionality.
  • Partner closely with the Systems Integrator and other implementation teams to translate business and clinical requirements into technical specifications and user stories.
  • Lead engagement sessions with providers to determine how features such as scheduling, clinical workflows, reporting, and interoperability can meet their operational needs.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration, including technical, clinical, and operational teams, to define user interfaces, system workflows, and core functionality of the HCMACS EHR system.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of Epic systems and modules, ensuring the solution leverages industry best practices and meets user expectations.
  • Balance stakeholder requests, business constraints, and technical feasibility to deliver a cohesive and innovative product while adhering to program timelines.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed product backlog and roadmap, ensuring feature releases are aligned with program milestones and provider onboarding schedules.
  • Establish processes for prioritizing development tasks based on user requirements, risk, resource allocation, and expected impact on outcomes.
  • Track and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the product’s success against established goals.
  • Collaborate with the Testing Manager to define acceptance criteria, quality benchmarks, and testing protocols for all functional areas of the HCMACS solution.
  • Continuously ensure the delivered product adheres to defined performance measures, usability standards, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Ensure the product meets all regulatory, security, and privacy requirements, including HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), Medicaid protocols, and ONC (Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT) certification criteria.
  • Stay informed on healthcare industry trends, EHR interoperability standards, and government contracting regulations that impact the product’s design and operation.
  • Actively solicit feedback from providers and end-users’ post-deployment to inform ongoing improvements.
  • Implement updates and optimizations to reflect changing stakeholder needs and evolving regulatory or technological conditions.
  • Manage the HCMACS lifecycle post-go-live, including troubleshooting issues and coordinating new development as the program evolves.

Qualifications

Here’s What You Need

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare informatics, business administration, product management, information systems, or a related field is required
  • Epic certifications in relevant modules (e.g., EpicCare Ambulatory, EpicCare Inpatient, Clinical Documentation, Orders) are highly preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ experience with Epic Community Connect Program, including their functionalities and configurations.
  • Familiarity with Epic’s implementation methodologies and modules, including workflows, configuration, and operational optimization.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with healthcare providers, government agencies, and diverse stakeholder groups, including clinicians, administrators, and IT teams.
  • Experience balancing competing priorities while managing cross-functional teams in complex project environments.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare compliance standards, including HIPAA, CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) guidelines, and ONC Health IT Certification requirements.
  • Proven track record in leading and mentoring product teams, driving collaborative decision-making, and delivering outcomes that meet user needs.
  • Experience developing and analyzing KPIs to measure product success and continuously optimize functionality over time.
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

  • Ability to define and deliver a compelling product vision aligned with program goals and user needs.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with demonstrated ability to present complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Analytical skills to prioritize features and functionality, identify risks, and troubleshoot unforeseen implementation issues.
  • Strong collaboration skills to lead cross-functional teams and partner with technical, clinical, and operational stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience with Epic EHR functionality, user interfaces, and implementation of best practices. to ensure thorough documentation of all provider onboarding processes, milestones, and readiness certification activities.
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast past environment with changing priorities; adaptable to change and a quick learner.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as on a multi-functional team.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.

  • May be asked to travel for business or professional development purposes.
  • Ability to travel as needed to provider sites across Washington State.

Pay Range
