The Data Architect, Implementation Support, plays a critical role in designing, managing, and governing the data architecture supporting the Health Care Management and Coordination System (HCMACS) Program.

 

The Data Architect ensures the design and stewardship of enterprise-wide data governance practices, standards, and integration strategies to support reporting, analytics, and interoperability across the program. This highly technical and strategic role focuses on ensuring the consistency, quality, and security of data flowing through the Epic Systems EHR platform and associated systems, enabling functional and clinical value for underserved populations.

 

The Data Architect is responsible for building scalable, interoperable data models and integration strategies aligned with the HCMACS program’s requirements and state and federal standards. The role requires expertise in health IT data structures, public health data compliance, and advanced analytics to support data-driven decision-making and program success.

 

This position performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Cayuse.

Responsibilities

  • Design and manage enterprise data architecture across agencies.
  • Define data governance, standards, and integration for reporting and analytics.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, data quality, and metadata management.
  • Develop data dictionaries, lineage, and warehousing strategies.
  • Enable support for predictive analytics, BI, and machine learning readiness.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Here’s What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
  • 7 years of experience in data architecture or data management roles.
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

Minimum Skills:

  • Experience with Epic data models and public health data systems.
  • Strong knowledge of HL7, FHIR, and data privacy regulations.
  • Experience in multi-agency data governance and interoperability planning.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high-level attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast past environment with changing priorities; adaptable to change and a quick learner.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as on a multi-functional team.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Working Conditions
