Key Responsibilities:

    • Design test cases and test scripts that cover various scenarios, including edge cases, to ensure comprehensive testing.
  2. Test Execution:
    • Execute manual and automated tests to identify defects or issues in the software.

    • Participate in retrospectives and suggest enhancements to testing practices and tools.
  5. Quality Metrics and Reporting:
    • Track and report on key quality metrics, such as defect density, test coverage, and test pass/fail rates.
    • Communicate the overall quality status of the product to stakeholders.
  6. Collaboration:
    • Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand the product vision and requirements.
    • Provide input during the design and development phases to prevent defects early in the process.
  7. Risk Management:
    • Assess the risks associated with the release of the product and ensure that critical issues are resolved before deployment.
    • Prioritize testing efforts based on the risk and impact of potential defects.
  8. Automation:
    • Develop and maintain automated test scripts to increase testing efficiency and coverage.
    • Ensure that automated tests are integrated into the continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline.

Function in the Development Lifecycle:

  • Pre-development: Involved in requirement analysis to ensure testability.
  • Development: Conducts ongoing testing and provides early feedback on the quality of interim builds.
