Key Responsibilities:
- Work with web-based computer systems, Occupational Health and Safety software, the Department of Labor Employee Compensation Operations and Management Portal (ECOMP), as well as Microsoft Office Suite software.
- Work jointly with the Program Analyst assigned to the Workers' Compensation program and the Health Unit (HU) staff. Assist the Program Analyst in collecting, assembling, and managing documents and forms related to the Workers' Compensation and Light and Limited Duty programs.
- Serve as a point of contact for the Workers' Compensation and Light and Limited Duty programs.
- Provide technical advice and assistance to injured employees filing and/or on workers' compensation claims.
- Provide technical advice and assistance to injured employees requesting and/or on Light and Limited Duty assignments for work and non-work-related injuries.
- Provide technical advice and assistance to management over the workers' compensation and Light and Limited Duty programs.
- Maintain compliance with all initiatives used by the Office of Workers’ Compensation (OWCP) to score agencies' performance as it relates to the workers' compensation program.
- Enter and process claim forms into the Employees' Compensation Operations and Management (ECOMP) portal.
- Perform case management in accordance with the Privacy Act of 1974 as amended (U.S.C. 522a).
- Create and maintain an electronic file folder for each employee claim and/or Light and Limited Duty transaction.
- Log into ECOMP daily as Agency Reviewer (AR) and OSHA Recorder Keeper (ORK) for monitoring and processing claim documents.
- Review documents for accuracy and processing.
- Review reports and notify the appropriate personnel of any discrepancies.
- Provide monthly and quarterly reports to leadership.
- Track and enter claim management into Cority.
- Attend required meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned with the OEHS.
- Follow all client's policies and procedures.
- Adhere to employer work practices as described in Cayuse policies.
- Perform additional reports as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications – Here’s What You Need:
- 2 years case management experience.
- High School Diploma.
- Preferred knowledge of the Federal Employees' Compensation Act (FECA) regulations and the Office of Workers' Compensation (OWCP) for guidance processing workers' compensation claims.
- Credit Check is required.
- Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.
- Must possess problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
- Must be able to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.
- Highly motivated with the ability to handle and manage multiple tasks at any one time.
- Ability to forge new relationships, individual and teaming in nature.
- Must be a Self-starter, that can work independently and as part of a team.
Reports to: Program Manager
Working Conditions:
- Professional medical office environment.
- Keep regular clinic hours as approved by Manager/Director - 7:30am-4:00pm.
- Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties extended periods of time.
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.
- Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including visual examination of patient and reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
- Adequate physical ability including sufficient manual dexterity to perform the requisite health care service.
- Requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting, and sitting, with some heavy lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.
- Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace.
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time looking at computer screen.
- May be asked to work a flexible schedule which may include holidays.
- May be asked to travel for business or professional development purposes.
- May be asked to work hours outside of normal business hours.
