Overview

The Work:

The Librarian Technician manages the daily operations of the RSAF ELT Library, supporting both students and instructors by facilitating access to resources, maintaining accurate circulation records, and fostering a positive learning environment. This role is responsible for cataloging, checkouts/returns, student orientations, and maintaining the library’s digital and physical presence. The Librarian also supports academic programs through resource preparation.

 

This position performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Cayuse.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily circulation, including checkouts, renewals, returns, and overdue tracking.
  • Maintain accurate records in both the Library Catalog system and library spreadsheets.
  • Organize, inventory, and prepare ALC and supplemental materials for distribution.
  • Catalog new resources and ensure proper labeling, barcoding, and filing.
  • Keep the library clean, organized, and welcoming.
  • Provide orientations for new students, including library policies and resource use.
  • Counsel students on proper resource use and encourage independent study.
  • Send reminders for due and overdue resources; assist with renewals and replacements.
  • Support students in Phase 1 media labs and other structured learning activities.
  • Prepare and share weekly library communications, including Book of the Week and Weekly Idioms.
  • Publish and update library website content and distribute weekly staff and student emails.
  • Maintain bulletin boards and library displays to encourage reading and engagement.
  • Coordinate the student reading incentive program and present recognition awards. 
  • Add new students and instructors to the library system and maintain membership records.
  • Managed all DLI ALC testing equipment and inventory of material, as well as ensuring it is secured IAW DLI mandates
  • Manage all ALC book tracking processes and established reorder thresholds.
  • Manage all aspects of the program’s library with the goal of 0 discrepancies during multiple DLI/AFSAT inspections.
  • Assist with student out-processing by confirming all resources are returned.
  • Serve as substitute Media Lab Tech when required.
  • Support supervisors with special projects and academic resource needs
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications – Here’s What You Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Familiarity with ESL/EFL educational environments required.
  • Previous experience in a library, educational, or administrative support role is an asset.
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

Minimum Skills:

  • Proficiency with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Sites, Gmail).
  • Basic proficiency with cataloging software or willingness to learn (Librarika, DYMO Label Maker).
  • Comfort with common instructional technologies (e.g., projectors, SMARTboard, media lab systems).
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Clear communication, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Professionalism, reliability, and cultural sensitivity.

  • ESL certified teacher

Working Conditions:

  • Professional office environment.
  • Ability to work on-site at Sheppard Air Force base, Wichita Falls, TX.
  • Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.
  • Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time looking at computer screen.
  • May be asked to work a flexible schedule which may include holidays.
  • May be asked to travel for business or professional development purposes.
  • May be asked to work hours outside of normal business hours.

Pay Range

USD $60,000.00 - USD $64,000.00 /Yr.
