The Work

The QA Automation Analyst will develop and implement automated testing frameworks, ensuring software quality, and streamlining QA processes. This role requires utilizing a variety of tools, technologies, and methodologies to deliver high-quality, robust, and efficient testing solutions aligned with client requirements and organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Development and maintenance of test scripts for both manual and automated testing. Experience preparing UAT test cases, aligning them with business requirements, and conducting walkthroughs with stakeholders to ensure clarity.
  • Tracks test case execution and provides reporting. Use Jira to log and track defects.
  • Develops and maintains requirements traceability matrices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Here’s What You Need

  • 8 years of knowledge of software usability concepts and requirements traceability, and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process.
  • 8 years of experience in writing and executing test cases, as well as creating test plans.
  • 8 years of knowledge of Xray Test Case management tool.
  •  Knowledge and experience working with a scrum team in an agile environment to deliver software release sprints for HHSC, on time, with a focus on quality using Jira and SharePoint.
  • 8 years of experience in using CI/CD pipelines to enhance software development testing processes.
  •  Proficient in defect tracking and management using industry-standard tools such as Jira and systematically log, categorize, and prioritize identified defects, ensuring a clear and organized record of issues throughout the software development lifecycle. 
  •  8 years of knowledge of SQL query writing to perform CURD operations.
  • 8 years of experience in API Testing using Postman, SOAPUI, JMETER or similar.
  •  Experience working on different types of testing: e.g., unit, integration, regression, smoke, user acceptance, system, stress, and performance.
  •  Knowledge of code coverage tools, process or systems analysis, and design work.
  •  8 years of QA automation testing and scripting experience using UFT
  •  Experience with creating and reviewing performance testing scripts and reviewing result.
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

Minimum Skills:

  • Must possess problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
  • Analyzing and interpreting raw data.
  • Requirements gathering and documentation.
  • Business process improvement and system design.
  • Ability to respond effectively to customers with a sense of urgency.
  • Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to handle and manage multiple tasks at any one time.
  • Ability to forge new relationships, individual and teaming in nature.
  • Must be a Self-starter, that can work independently and as part of a team.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with the State of Texas HHS agency and system preferred.

• Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Professional office environment, with the ability to work on site in the main office in Austin, TX.
  • Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.
  • Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time looking at computer screen.
