The Work

The Project Manager III serves as a senior-level management professional responsible for the overall planning, execution, monitoring, and successful completion of complex projects within the organization. This role ensures projects are delivered within scope, schedule, and budget requirements while adhering to all regulatory, contractual, and organizational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develops comprehensive project management plans, including scope, schedule, and cost baselines. Conducts project kick-off meetings and ensures clear understanding of goals and deliverables among stakeholders.
  • Allocates and manages project resources (personnel, budget, equipment) to ensure optimal project execution. Identifies and addresses resource gaps proactively.
  • Serves as the primary interface to clients, sponsors, subcontractors, and internal teams. Conducts regular status meetings and communicates project progress and risks.
  • Establishes, monitors, and controls project schedules and budgets, ensuring alignment with contract requirements. Tracks performance and prepares detailed status reports.
  • Identifies, assesses, and develops mitigation strategies for project risks and issues. Maintains risk registers and drives timely resolution of escalated matters.
  • Ensures adherence to project quality standards, policies, and best practices. Oversee reviews, testing, and validation processes to ensure deliverable compliance.
  • Monitors project scope, manages change control processes, and coordinates activities resulting from change orders or contract modifications.

 

 

  • Ensures project execution in accordance with applicable contract terms, regulations, and organizational policies. Prepares and submits compliance and status documentation as required.
  • Provides leadership to project teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance. Mentors junior team members and facilitates professional growth.
  • Collects performance metrics, analyzes data, and generates progress reports for internal and external stakeholders. Recommends process improvements based on lessons learned.
  • Leads project closeout activities, including final deliverable acceptance, lessons learned sessions, documentation archiving, and contract closure.
  • Identifies and implements process enhancements and efficiency measures based on project outcomes and team feedback

Qualifications

Here’s What You Need

  • 10 years of managing projects with implementations across large organizations. Experience should include developing and managing project plans, documenting risks, issues, and contingency plans.
  • 10 years of experience in research, gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze facts; to devise solutions to problems; and to prepare concise reports and/or to analyze and solve complex and difficult problems.
  • 10 years of experience overseeing the development of SDLC artifacts, ensure business requirements get translated into technical specifications, guide, and facilitate the SDLC process.
  • 10 years of experience with developing and maintaining strong relationships with multiple project sponsors and stakeholders.
  • 10 years of experience with the ability to appropriately summarize and escalate issues and develop and present weekly status updates and conduct regular project team meetings.
  • 10 years with the ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • 8 years of Agile methodology, overseeing and tracking development progress, and ensuring project assignments align with project timelines.
  • 8 years of Agile Experience - Managing the project with feature driven sprints.
  • 8 years of experience leading and drive multi-million dollar software and IT projects.
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

Minimum Skills:

  • Must possess problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
  • Analyzing and interpreting raw data.
  • Requirements gathering and documentation.
  • Business process improvement and system design.
  • Ability to respond effectively to customers with a sense of urgency.
  • Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to handle and manage multiple tasks at any one time.
  • Ability to forge new relationships, individual and teaming in nature.
  • Must be a Self-starter, that can work independently and as part of a team.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP Certification.
  • Experience implementing and using agile methodologies and best practices for 1 or more State of Texas Agencies.
  • Prior experience in healthcare or Public Health.

Working Conditions

  • Professional office environment, with the ability to work on site in the main office in Austin, TX.
  • Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.
  • Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time looking at computer screen.
