The Work
The Personnel Recovery Instructor III will serve as an instructor for the client subject matter expert on personnel recovery tactics, techniques and procedures, with responsibility for planning, organizing, and presenting and/or managing the presentation of one or more of these courses and for evaluating training effectiveness to ensure that objectives are met.

Key Responsibilities
Assist in the planning, organization, and instruction of personnel recovery tactics, techniques, and procedures.
Facilitate Operations-based Exercises in support of international security programs.
Facilitate Discussion-based Exercises to update and build plans and policies in support of international operations.
Review established training objectives, lesson plans, training materials, and instructional methods prior to the beginning of assigned courses.
Plan, prepare, and organize course material for presentation to students in classroom instruction, practical exercises, as well as field training exercises.
Coordinate the administrative functions associated with student records, instructor management, and course execution.
Evaluate training organization and implementation in order to ensure objectives and standards are met

Must possess a high school diploma.
Minimum five (5) years’ experience in managing and facilitating interagency Discussion and Operations Based Exercises.
Minimum five (5) years instructor experience.
Minimum Skills:
Advanced knowledge of security concepts, principles, and practices to provide basic and advanced training in the application of personnel recovery methods.
Advanced knowledge of security programs, operations, and techniques, including terrorism and anti-terrorism operations, use of force, civil liability, and appropriate techniques, tactics, and procedures.
Advanced knowledge of current protective security methods to provide instruction that is consistent with currently accepted methods and practices.
Familiarity with the functions, responsibilities, and duties of Foreign Service personnel preferred.
Intermediate knowledge of adult learning principles, course development, classroom and practical instructional presentation methods, and methods for evaluating training effectiveness.
Ability to immediately analyze, predict, and preclude situations to ensure training is conducted in a safe manner.
Ability to establish and maintain liaison with personnel at all levels in order to plan and coordinate assigned responsibilities.

Working Conditions
Ability to complete work requiring regular and recurring physical and mental exertion, long periods of standing and irregular hours.
Ability to work in unpleasant or adverse environmental conditions, such as extreme hot and cold.
Ability to lift and carry equipment and materials demonstrating physical challenging practical exercises.
Ability to work effectively in an environment that consists of numerous personnel, use of non-lethal projectiles (firearms), air assets (helicopters), pyrotechnics, and fast-moving vehicles.
