Overview

The Watch Floor Trainer develops, maintains, and updates training materials and documentation necessary to ensure smooth delivery of operational support across the watch floor; delivers onboarding, refresher, and cross-task training in support of personnel assigned to all shifts; and assists in onboarding new personnel, including arranging initial badging, facility familiarization, and SCIF access.

 

This role includes performing as shift lead on the watch floor, as needed and as scheduled. Primarily, the Watch Floor Trainer focuses on training personnel to perform the Watch and Warning function, but the Watch Floor Trainer also ensures that all personnel are equipped with the knowledge and resources necessary for effective performance in their roles.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Watch Floor Trainer, performing duties such as:
    • Creating/Maintaining a training curriculum and training materials approved by Federal Staff, which covers Watch and Warning standards and reporting procedures.
    • Conducting training sessions for newly onboarded staff to ensure their successful integration into Watch Floor operations.
    • Delivering refresher training to staff members as required, including conducting on-site training with watch staff using real-world scenarios and exercises.
    • Collaborating with the Quality Control team to maintain awareness of process updates and error trends, revising training materials accordingly.
    • Providing recommendations for curriculum changes to both Federal and Contract Leadership.
    • Submitting weekly reports to contract leadership detailing the training status and plans.
    • Assisting the Onboarding Team with tasks such as staff badging, access provisioning, and providing directions to new hires.
  • Seamlessly move between shifts to work alongside analysts in need of training.
    • Attention will need to be paid to be sure that hour requirements are met. Any changes needed to regular shift times must be brought to the attention of the client’s Task Operations Manager, Program Manager, and DPM.
  • Serve as Shift Lead for the Watch Floor when needed, performing operational duties such as:
    • Collecting and passing information from one shift to the next; collaborating with other contract and federal team leads; and sharing information vital to critical infrastructure, cyber and key resources, warning, and reporting; and answering requests for information.
    • Performing triage on questions, issues, or events involving the nation's Critical Infrastructures (CI), Cyber and Key Resources.
    • Evaluating current information and developing responses to critical information requirements.
    • Monitoring a variety of information sources, such as online media sources specific company news feeds, news media channels, weather channels, and particular websites for information relating to CI and Cyber.
    • Maintaining knowledge of known Cyber threat actors, ransomware variants, and DDOS attack vectors.
    • Analyzing and using information received via Open-Source, Official OS, Regional Reporting, Social Media aggregation tool, and other government or non-government agency reports to write/prepare error-free, clear, and concise reports answering the EEIs, CISA CIRs, PCIRs, and leadership questions concerning incidents.
    • Coaching and developing junior- and journeyman-level Watch Analysts.
  • Assist the Task Lead in providing accomplishments, future plans, risks, issues and recommendations in support to the monthly PMR detailing.
  • Other duties as assigned, including training duties associated with all personnel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline such as Homeland Security or Business, or a combination of education, technical training, and equivalent experience.
  • Additional (2) two years of experience may be substituted with an Associate’s degree.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of related experience with at least one (1) year of specialized operations center experience
  • Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance.
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

Minimum Skills:

  • Experience delivering a formal training program and in developing, updating, and maintaining associated training materials.
  • Knowledge of National Incident Management System (NIMS) structure, emergency management operations, and background knowledge of one (1) or more critical infrastructure sectors.
  • Capable of synthesizing, synopsizing, and presenting information at an executive level.
  • Demonstrate expertise in research, analysis, and technical writing skills and be able to perform triage on questions, issues, or events involving the nation’s critical infrastructures and key resources.
  • Experience in managing operational teams in dispersed locations during high-tempo mission critical operations.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office; including but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and other general software applications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels within an organization and externally in a professional, articulate manner.

Pay Range

USD $115,000.00 - USD $120,000.00 /Yr.
