Overview

The Work

The Network Engineer will be responsible for deploying and managing diversified network infrastructure, collaborating with telecommunications carriers, and ensuring seamless connectivity to client offices. This position will also play a crucial role in maintaining comprehensive documentation, creating network diagrams, troubleshooting network issues, and ensuring strict adherence to security guidelines.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage network infrastructure solutions tailored to meet project requirements.
  • Collaborate with telecommunications carriers to provision connectivity to client offices.
  • Generate, update, and maintain documentation, such as network configurations, process workbooks, and network diagrams using tools like Microsoft Visio.
  • Provide high-quality network engineering and technical services for projects in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Analyze and resolve computer network problems efficiently.
  • Provide ongoing technology support and assistance as required.
  • Enforce compliance with technology standards, operational procedures, and licensing policies.
  • Ensure the security of network infrastructure by managing network accounts and implementing security protocols.
  • Architect, procure, and implement federal acquisition-compliant network solutions.
  • Perform installations and remote turn-up/testing of network equipment and connectivity.
  • Manage diverse network environments by adding connections and maintaining routing/switching protocols across infrastructure.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all security-related guidelines at all times.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify requirements and develop tailored technical solutions.
  • Maintain and ensure uptime and efficiency of remote network sites through diligent troubleshooting and support of field staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications – Here’s What You Need

  • At least 5 years of experience:
    • Installing/implementing networks and infrastructure based on design drawings.
    • Proven expertise with implementing and troubleshooting IPSec and GRE tunnels.
    • Proficient at producing technical network drawings using Microsoft Visio.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience troubleshooting and maintaining routing and switching protocols.
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructures, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
  • Knowledge of CCNA Routing and Switching or CCNA Security certifications.
  • Familiarity with the ServiceNow trouble ticketing and asset management system.
  • Experience with Cisco Certifications.

 

  • Top Secret Security Clearance is required.
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

  • Must be self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as on a multi-functional team. 
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately 
  • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills for prompt resolution of network-related issues.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Enterprise-level experience with OSPF (multi-area) routing protocols.
  • Experience working with Cisco IOS-XE/Cisco ASR routers and Cisco Nexus switches (NX-OS).
  • Familiarity with Cisco Voice-over-IP (VoIP) solutions, including Cisco Call Manager Express and Cisco Unity Express.
  • Previous Department of State (DoS) experience (desirable but not required).
  • ITIL certifications or demonstrated ITIL expertise .

Working Conditions

  • Professional office environment, with the ability to work onsite in the main office.
  • Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.
  • Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time looking at computer screen.
